Cock-a-doodle-do

Some while ago I was wandering around IKEA, actually following the yellow brick road, you can’t wander round, they don’t let you!

And I happened upon a rather boring pine table for a tenner. I had a creative moment – yes, even happens to me in IKEA!

I thought I could paint this and make it a little more interesting.

I have an understairs cupboard full of Farrow and Ball paint, mostly the little matchpots. So I gave this table a rub down (after I’d assembled the pesky thing! – dreaded flatpack) gave it a couple of coats of Bone – a favourite of mine – second only to Lime White. I used the Estate Emulsion to paint the table and then decorated it with varying colours. Two coats of matt polyurethane varnish, and voila – a little treasure.

Took an afternoon. Thankfully emulsion dries in an instant and I am impatient.
